National Hydrocarbons Data Archive (NHDA)

BGS Data — National Geoscience Data Centre

This was a legacy system, managed by the BGS on behalf of the DTI and DECC, holding hydrocarbon data from operators requesting relief from their data management/storage obligations under the PON9 regulations. These government departments and systems have been superseded by the Oil & Gas Authority (OGA), who have created a National Data Repository (UK NDR) to make their data assets openly available to registered users.

The NGDC still holds legacy data from the NHDA as well as OGA gravity and magnetic data.

The NGR holds the physical core and samples from wells drilled in the North Sea and reported to the OGA.
