09/09/2022 By BGS PressBGS Director, Dr Karen Hanghøj today paid tribute to the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. Her life was dedicated to serving her nation, the Commonwealth and the world and bettering the lives of others. Over the years the Queen has recognised our staff for their services to geoscience and the environment and has been a huge advocate to promote STEM subjects to the next generation of scientists. She will be greatly missed.
