Elliott Hamilton’s biography

Research interests

  • HPLC-ICP-MS method development; speciation of As, Se, Cr in environmental matrices
  • Bioaccesibility studies using BARGE UBM method
  • Soil chemistry and the effect of agricultural practices on elemental speciation within soil systems

Current projects and collaboration

  • Analysis of natural waters, HF digests and fusions by ICP-MS
  • Specialised instrumental applications, including speciation of As, Cr, Se by HPLC-ICP-MS, isotope dilution, UBM/bioaccessibility studies and iodine analysis
  • Part-time PhD within Centre for Environmental Geochemistry, investigating bioavailability of hexavalent chromium from soils near mine waste dumps in Zambia and the implications for staple crops
