Summary
Roxana is a trained geographer with a background in Environmental Geological Engineering and Geohazards. Her main research interest lies in better understanding the risks and impacts caused by natural hazards on communities and the built environment, taking into account future environmental and socio-economic changes. She is particularly keen on integrating different qualitative and quantitative tools and techniques for assessing susceptibility, exposure, vulnerability and loss to multiple hazards with an outlook on their spatial and temporal interaction. Roxana worked with different stakeholders, across scales and sectors, in national and international projects. With her work, she hopes to contribute towards bridging the gap between science, policy, and practice in Disaster Risk Reduction and move from identifying problems to developing solutions and approaches toward a more resilient and sustainable future.
