Sophie is a survey geologist at BGS, based in the Cardiff office. Before starting at BGS, Sophie researched igneous processes and has experience working with intraplate settings, subduction zone settings and magmas with highly silica-undersaturated, volatile- and REE-rich compositions. Though her research background has been focused on igneous systems, she is interested in a wide variety of geological processes and settings. She has completed field campaigns in Canada, Iceland and various locations across the UK.
