Vacancy - data sharing lead (2200006S)

This role will be based at the BGS headquarters in Keyworth, Nottingham.

Responsible for providing the framework, governance and leadership for the effective licensing and delivery of BGS information and products, you will coordinate the delivery and approval/sign-off process, you will manage the data sharing and pricing strategy and you will identify and make recommendations around future, best-practice data sharing mechanisms.  When combined, these responsibilities make an important contribution to BGS’s on-going commitment towards data accessibility and in furthering the use of geoscience data.

In addition, you will have a pivotal role in better understanding and articulating the usage and impact of BGS’ data products.  By building and managing strong relationships with stakeholders through demonstrating a thorough understanding of geoscience data and data management practices, you will play an important part in managing external focus groups, in contributing towards an on-going programme of data product reviews, and in representing BGS on cross-governmental geospatial strategy initiatives.
