This report brings together the results from a multi-method, year-long examination of public reactions to geological carbon storage in the UK. This work was designed and carried out in conjunction with the British Geological Survey and the Carbon Storage Research Facility Scientific Advisory Group. The inquiry ran February 2023 – March 2024, and sought to establish a social science baseline for how various manifestations of ‘the public’ in the UK perceive and respond to potential for geologic storage of carbon dioxide in the UK.
