We have a wide range of licensed geoscience data. The datasets range from the geological data family (BGS Geology) to offshore data, ground stability datasets and 3D models.
Weathering is the wearing down or breaking of rocks while they are in place.
In June 2014 the BGS were asked to carry out a terrestrial LiDAR survey of the Hellfire Caves; a network of man-made chalk and flint caverns, extending 500m underground.
The Senior Management Board is the main management decision-making body of the BGS.
