I head up internal communications at BGS. I spend my time ensuring BGS staff are well informed of all of the latest organisational news and information. To celebrate achievements and the more lighthearted news I edit and produce our internal monthly newsletter "Core Matters". I also lead change communication and ensure that all communications are planned strategically to give maximum impact. When I'm not communicating internally I am involved in publicising the amazing science that BGS carries out which includes writing PR campaigns for major projects, writing press releases and dealing with reactive geological events such as earthquakes and volcanoes. My job is really varied and no two days are the same. I am passionate about my role and the science that BGS carries out. Geology really does rock!
