As a Geochemistry Technician for the Stable Isotope Facility at the BGS, I primarily prepare and analyse samples on the Isoprime precisION with vario ISOTOPE select for δ15N, δ13C and δ34S for environmental research as part of the Environmental Change, Adaption and Resilience challenge area. I can also operate numerous mass spectrometers for δ13C and δ18O in both small, bulk and total dissolved inorganic carbonates and δ18O and δ2H analysis in water samples.
Before arriving at the BGS, I had recently graduated with an integrated Geology Masters from the University of Leicester where my Masters project focused on sample preparation techniques of soil samples prior to portable XRF analysis of heavy metals.
