2024 Mine Water Energy Symposium

Now in its fourth year, the 2024 Mine Water Energy Symposium will be held in person for the first time in April 2024, with online streaming functionality.

As part of the IEA geothermal technology collaboration programme (TCP), the symposium will bring together international participants to share case studies of mine water heating projects as well as developments in mine thermal energy storage. The symposium’s focus will include research as diverse as heat-flow modelling, biogeochemistry and social sciences. Talks on regulatory aspects of mine water geothermal will be complemented by a regulation workshop session aiming to draw on international experiences. There will also be poster display.

Registration for in-person attendance closes on 17 April 2024, so please register soon to hear from expert speakers and for networking and knowledge exchange on this growing technology for decarbonising heating, cooling and thermal storage.
