Author statement Original geological survey on the one-inch scale by H.W. Bristow and J. Trimmer. Published on the Old Series sheets 15, 16, in 1855 and 1856. Resurveyed on the six-inch scale by C. Reid in 1892-1894. Published on the one-inch scale, both Solid and Drift editions, 1895. Colour-printed, Solid and Drift Edition only, 1904. Reconstituted from one-inch scale without geological revision and reprinted onto First Series 1:50 000 base, 1976. Resurveyed on the 1:10 000 scale by C.R. Bristow, E.C. Freshney and B.J. Williams in 1984-1986. R.W. Gallois and P.M. Allen, Regional Geologists. The greater part of this resurvey was funded by the Department of the Environment.
