Marine clays with thin sandy laminae passing gradationally upwards to sand with thin clay laminae (shallowing upwards), characterised by strong, continuous, sub-parallel reflectors in seismic profiles. |
Definition of Lower Boundary: |
Unconformably overlies gently-folded and faulted Palaeogene or older sediments, unconformably overlies Red Crag Formation in southwest quadrant of Flemish Bight. |
Definition of Upper Boundary: |
Unconformably overlain by Lower, Middle and Upper Pleistocene formations, and by Holocene sediments in the southwest. |
