Lithological Description: Grey-black slates with siltstones and carbonate nodules, and limestone; coarse- and fine-grained tuffs also occur with agglomerate and lavas.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Drawn at base of grey-black slates of the Barras Nose Formation where they rest apparently conformably on grey slates of the Yeolmbridge Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Drawn at unconformable upward passage from grey-black banded slates of the Trambley Cove Formation to green slates and limestone of the Buckator Formation.
Thickness: About 135 m.
Geographical Limits: Southwest England.
