Lithological Description: Reddish-grey unsorted pebble conglomerate, roughly bedded, clasts to 120mm but usually less than 30mm, angular to subrounded, probably matrix supported; many clasts are of igneous rocks.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Lowest occurrence of conglomerate above the Ree Burn Formation (greywackes).
Definition of Upper Boundary: Top of topmost bed of conglomerate, below the red and yellow sandstones of the overlying Douglas Water Arenite.
Thickness: 40m
Geographical Limits: Lower Palaeozoic inlier of the Hagshaw Hills, Scotland. (50k sheets, 23E, 23W and 15W).
