Lithological Description: Predominantly psammite, with quartzite units near its base. Locally, thin semipelitic units.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Upon the Glenfinnan Group (GLEN) with a transitional, possibly interfingering boundary.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Not known. Commonly unconformably overlain by Old red Sandstone.
Thickness: At least 2.5 km thick, up to about 5 km.
Geographical Limits: Northern Highlands. Restricted to the Sgurr Beag Nappe and structural equivalents.
Parent Unit: Loch Ness Supergroup (LNES)
