Lithological Description: Purple and reddish brown conglomerates and breccias in a sandstone matrix, with pebbles and rounded boulders of local derivation, up to 0.4 m in diameter of wacke and local 'Haggis Rock'.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Unconformably overlies Ordovician rocks of the Southern Upland Terrane.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Not seen, as it is cut by the Southern Upland fault.
Thickness: At least 50 m thick.
Geographical Limits: The Peebles area of the Southern Uplands.
