BGS Rock Classification Scheme

Hornblende-pyroxenite - A type of pyroxenite. In the Rock Classification Scheme, it is a pyroxenite with olivine <5%, pyroxene 47 - 90%, hornblende 5 - 50% of olivine + pyroxene + hornblende. British Geological Survey Research Report RR/99/06, section 5.1 and figs. 15, 16.
