Author statement Original geological survey on the one-inch scale by W. Whitaker, H.B. Woodward, F.J. Bennett, A.C. Cameron, S.B.J. Skertchly, C.E. Hawkins, C. Reid and G. Barrow; published on Old Series Sheet 65 in 1884. Parts resurveyed on the 1:10 000 scale by F.C. Cox, R.W. Gallois and B.R. Young in 1970-72 and A. Horton, E.R. Shephard-Thorn, R.J. Wyatt and J.A. Zalasiewicz in 1979. Revised edition on the 1:50 000 scale compiled by R W Gallois, largely fromlimited field surveys, aerial photographs and borehole data and incorporating earlier detailed surveys (see key map for details).
