As part of the BGS Data and Information Governance (DIG) Framework we have introduced a DIG policy which establishes the principles and practices for effective management of data and information and use, and articulates responsibilities for the stewardship of corporate data for everyone from data users to data owners.
The BGS has adopted a research data management policy to provide researchers with a structure to help them to manage their research data effectively.
The NGDC has a digital preservation policy to ensure the long-term continuity of digital geoscience data in its care.
