Summary

I am an environmental scientist at the British Geological Survey (BGS) in the Minerals and Waste Science Area. One of my main roles is working on the BGS University Funding Initiative (BUFI) project that supports over 100 PhD students in collaboration with Universities and Research Institutes across the UK. Amongst other things I am responsible for the BUFI web pages, organising and running our Annual PhD Science Festival and our Twitter account. I recently created a BUFI alumni to see where our past students are now and what they are doing. I am also on the BGS Science Coordination Team on the NERC Security of Supply of Minerals Programme. I organise meetings and plan programme events. During my early days at BGS I gained over a decade of experience in mineral processing in the laboratory before leading my own projects on mineral aggregates and the environment. At the core of these was stakeholder engagement in order to develop user friendly outputs. Most of these projects were working with external collaborators and consultants.
