BGS has released the first digital version of the UK legacy geothermal catalogue of subsurface temperature measurements, rock thermal conductivity measurements and heat flow calculations.
The team are actively researching and developing new modelling and data analysis methods in geophysical tomography.
The SOS team are focused on two main research objectives: development of smart sensor networks for multiscale catchment monitoring and forecasting, and optimisation of smart sensor networks to quantify and improve urban water security.
The geological core provides a cross-section through the UK’s largest fault zone, offering a rare insight into the formation of the Scottish Highlands.
