Strengthening Resilience in Volcanic Areas (STREVA)

Strengthening Resilience in Volcanic Areas (STREVA) is an interdisciplinary project that aims to reduce the negative impact of volcanic activity on people and assets. The project works across disciplines to develop and apply a practical and adaptable volcanic risk assessment framework.

STREVA is funded by the NERC/ESRC Increasing Resilience to Natural Hazards in Earthquake-Prone and Volcanic Regions programme.

This project is in the early stages and so far EPOM has been involved in STREVA by collecting background thermal, optical and topographic earth observation imagery and information on key volcanic edifices.
