Lithological Description: |
An area of Worked Ground where the land surface (natural or artificial) has been lowered due to an obsolete method of shallow mining whereby a vertical shaft is sunk to the target horizon and the workings extended in all directions until the opening is no longer safe to work. To be applied in cases where individual Bell Pits are mappable, else use Disturbed Ground due to Shallow Mine Workings.
