Lithological Description: Pebble and cobble conglomerates and very coarse to coarse sandstone, in beds < 4 m thick. The sandstone shows channels, planar and trough-cross bedding, with co-sets several metres thick, and is locally contorted.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Unconformable upon Lewisian Gneiss (L). Precambrian weathering profile occurs locally just below the unconformity.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Conformably overlain by the remainder of the Applecross Formation (TCA).
Thickness: c. 450 m; thinning to the south.
Geographical Limits: NW Highlands: Cape Wrath to northern Assynt.
