Lithological Description: Conglomerates, breccias and sandstones all composed of dominantly Dalradian Supergroup rocks.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Unconformity on Dalradian Supergroup metasediments, with localised thin basal breccia.
Definition of Upper Boundary: The base of the New Orleans Conglomerate Formation.
Thickness: Comprises the Basal Breccia member at approximately 110 m thick which is overlain by the Quartzite Conglomerate member which is about 330m thick, to giving a total unit thickness of 440 m at type section.
Geographical Limits: The Kintyre peninsula, south of Peninver [NR 762 253], but excluding Sanda and neighbouring islands, on Sheet 12.
Parent Unit: Arbuthnott-Garvock Group (ATGK)
