Lithological Description: |
Fine-to medium-grained sand with stringers of granule gravel and channels containing clast-supported gravel. The gravel comprises subangular to subrounded clasts of Skiddaw Group sandstones and siltstones, red and yellow sandstone, Borrowdale Volcanic Group rocks, granite, granophyre, coal and ironstone. |

Generally undulating erosional contact on to Drigg Beach Till Member of the Gosforth Glacigenic Formation. |
Definition of Upper Boundary: |
Sub horizontal planar unconformable (?locally glacitectonic) contact with the the base of the Fishgarth Wood Till Member of the Gosforth Glacigenic Formation. |
