Lithological Description: [Obsolete: use CLHI] Colour banded semi-pelitic phyllite with intercalations of quartzite. Laminated phyllites contain muscovite and some are graphitic. Thick units of coarse, feldspathic grit occur.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Drawn at base of pelite and semi-pelite of the Clift Hills Phyllitic Group where it rests conformably on meta-spilite of the Asta Spilitic Group.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Drawn at conformable upward passage from semi-pelite and pelite of the Clift Hills Phyllitic Group to pelitic wacke of the Dunrossness Phyllitic Group.
Thickness: 2300m approx.
Geographical Limits: Shetlands, Scotland.
