Definition of Lower Boundary: Drawn at the base of the Rhynchonella Grits of the Camregan Group where they conformably rest upon the Monograptus Sedgwickii Shales.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Drawn at the conformable upward passage of grit of the Camregan Grits Formation to purple shale and mudstones of the Penhill Group.
Thickness: 60 metres.
Geographical Limits: The area around Girvan, Ayrshire.
