Lithological Description: Silt and clay, laminated, very stiff, pinkish grey, dusky red and light reddish brown (Munsell Soil). Laminae up to 10 mm thick, fining upwards.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Sharp, gently undulating, unconformable, draped contact with underlying stony sandy clay diamicton of the Maudsyke Till Member of the Blengdale Glacigenic Formation.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Gradational, conformable contact with overlying dark brown calcareous clay of the Carleton Hall Clay Member of the Glannoventia Formation.
Thickness: To 11.6m
Geographical Limits: West Cumbria.
