| Definition of Lower Boundary: | The first sandstone or sandstones above the Verneulites sigma or Bilinguites Marine Bands. If no marine bands have been proved, it is the base of the second main sandstone or sandstones below the top of the Millstone Grit Group. | ||
| Definition of Upper Boundary: | The top of the first main sandstone below the Cancelloceras Marine Band. If no Marine Bands are proved it is the top of the second or third main sandstone below the top of the Millstone Grit Group. Where the Redmire Flags are present it is the third sandstone; Where the Redmire Flags are absent it is the second sandstone. It is normally at least 30m below the top of the Group. | ||
