Lithological Description: Sandstone, grey to greenish grey, massive to flaggy, few micaceous partings, cross-bedded, with beds of green siltstone. Siltstone also occurs as rip-up clasts in sandstone. Some channels with pebbly base.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Sedimentary junction with Raebeg Sandstone Formation, not exposed.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Not known, upper part of formation removed by erosion.
Thickness: ca 100m
Geographical Limits: Immediately north-east of the Conglass Water in the north-east part of Tomintoul ORS outlier, upper Banffshire; a 50 km2 outlier, 15 x 5 km in extent, that is totally separated from; other ORS outcrops of the north-east Grampian area.
Parent Unit: Tomintoul Group (TOMI)
