Lithological Description: Comprises a red conglomerate that contains clasts mainly of Moine Supergroup metasedimentary rocks and granite, and thin interbeds of sandstone.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Unconformable on Moine metasedimentary rocks, which are mainly composed of migmatitic pelite and semipelite of the Loch Coire Formation, together with granitic sheets known as the Badenloch granite sheets, of the Caledonian Igneous Supersuite.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Conformably overlain by sandstone of the undifferentiated Ousdale Arkose Formation.
Thickness: About 250m
Geographical Limits: Mountain tops in the Ben Griam Mor and Ben Griam Beg area, Sutherland, about 28km northwest of Helmsdale.
