Lithological Description: A reddish grey to reddish brown, fine- to coarse-grained, commonly poorly sorted, locally massive, locally micaceous, sub-lithic sandstone, with igneous clasts.
Definition of Lower Boundary: A faulted contact with Highland Border Complex rocks.
Definition of Upper Boundary: A sharp contact with the overlying Balleich Lava Member of Craig of Monievreckie Conglomerate Formation.
Thickness: Inferred to be 200 m thick in the Aberfoyle area.
Geographical Limits: The north-west limb of the Strathmore Syncline, adjacent to the Highland Boundary Fault, between Balleich and Drum of Clashmore.
Parent Unit: Craig of Monievreckie Conglomerate Formation (CMVC)
