Lithological Description: The Stidham Gravel Member comprises gravels, 2 m thick, with a surface lying about 12 m above the present River Avon. The remains of 'mammoth' were reported by Winwood (1889) and Davies and Fry (1929). The gravels are correlated with MIS 8 (Campbell, p. 77 in Bowen, 1999).
