Author statement Original geological survey on the 1:63 360 scale by F.J. Bennett, W.H. Dalton, H. Howell, W.H. Penning, W. Whitaker and others. Published on the Old Series sheets 46 NE, 47, 51 SW and 52 SE in 1864 to 1884. Partly resurveyed on the 1:10 560 scale by A.G.C. Cameron in 1886 to 1892. Revised and resurveyed on the 1:10 560 scale by R.L. Sherlock and E.E.L. Dixon in 1930 to 1934. Area north of Northing 40 revised and partly resurveyed on the 1:10 000 scale by R.K. Westhead, K.R. Royse, S.J. Booth, R.J.O. Hamblin and M.G. Sumbler in 1998 to 1999. Area south of Northing 40 resurveyed on the 1:10 000 scale by A. Smith, P.M. Hopson and B.S.P. Moorlock in 1986 to 1992. Interpretation of concealed strata by D.J. Evans and N.J.P. Smith.P.J. Strange, Regional Geologist.
