Author statement Original geological survey at 1:63 360 scale by W.T. Aveline, H.H. Howell, J. Phillips and W.W. Smyth, published as Old Series Sheets 55 NW and 55 NE between 1850 and 1855. Partially resurveyed at 10 560 scale by T.N. George, S.E. Hollingworth, R.W. Pocock, J.H. Taylor and T.M. Whitehead in 1931-37; D.C. Greig and V. Wilson, in 1945, 1952-57; at the 1:10 000 scale by A. Brandon, A.A. Jackson and M.J. Sumbler in 1982-83; R.A. Hughes in 1988. This edition compiled by D. Wilson, W.J. Barclay and J.K. Prigmore in 1997-98 from sources indicated, with limited field work. Drift linework and some Solid linework compiled by air photo interpretation. Deep geology interpreted by N.J.P. Smith. T.J. Charsley, Regional Geologist.
