Author statement Original geological survey at 1:63 360 scale published on Old Series Sheet 69 in 1884 by S.B.J. Skertchly and W. Whitaker. Norfolk land area resurveyed at 1:10 560 scale by R.W. Gallois in 1965-66, S.C.A. Holmes, District Geologist. Reconnaissance survey of Lincolnshire land area by R.W. Gallois and J.I. Chisholm in 1994. Offshore geology based on geological and geophysical surveys made by CDR Evans and R.T.R. Wingfield, assisted by C.G. Bradley, G.K. Lott, M. Reed and A.R. Turner; J.E. Wright, Head, Continental Shelf Unit South; and by Susan E. Deegan and R.A. Floyd, assisted by Rosalind S. Brown; R. McQuillin, Head, Marine Geophysics Unit in 1971 and 1972. Revised edition on the 1:50 000 scale compiled by R.W. Gallois with the assistance of C.P. Smith, 1995.
