Biography

  •  2009 –2013 :  Post Doctoral Research Associate: "River capture in the Easternmost Himalaya:Testing erosion-tectonic feedback models using paleo-Brahmaputra deposits of the Bengal Basin, Bangladesh", joint appointment between NIGL and Lancaster Environment Centre, Lancaster University
  •  2006 –2009 :  Post Doctoral Research Fellow, University of Pisa
  •  2003 –2005 :  PhD Student, Department of Earth Sciences, University of Pisa

Skills

  •  Igneous and sedimentary (siliciclastic) petrography
  •  Mass spectrometry (ICP-MS, TIMS, LA-ICP-MS)

Research interests

  •  Detrital single grain thermo- and geo-eochronology and (isotope) geochemistry as applied to provenance studies, with focus on tectonic-erosion interactions (Himalaya)
  •  Use of petrography, trace element and isotope geochemistry of igneous and sedimentary rocks to address problems of orogenic evolution, palaeotectonic reconstructions and climate change (Alps and Apennines, Antarctica, Himalaya)
