Biography

  •  2004 :  Winner of the Aberconway Medal awarded by the Geological Society of London for distinguished work in the advancement of the practice and profession of Geology
  •  2000 – To date :  NGDC Manager and BGS Information Manager
  •  1998 – 2001 :  Programme Manager: BGS Geoscience Integrated Database
  •  1994 – 1997 :  Technical Manager: Nirex Digital Geoscience Database
  •  1988 – 1998 :  BGS IT Project Manager including responsibility for project that developed information systems for the Northern Ireland Geological Survey, Irish Geological Survey, Bolivian Geological Survey, Ecuadorian Geological Survey and the Greek Geological Survey.
  •  1982 – 1988 :  BGS Field Mapping Geologist
  •  1977 – 1982 :  BGS Industrial Minerals Geologist
