Archive Awareness Campaign

In 2013 the Archives and Records Association (UK and Ireland) and The National Archives created a new campaign "Explore Your Archive" to raise awareness of archives. This continues the work of the Archives Awareness Campaign and reaffirms the need for people to understand the role of archives and recognise their importance.

Archive Awareness Campaign was originally designed to be a celebration of the rich archive collections held within the UK. Between 2003 and 2010 the British Geological Survey hosted an annual event to demonstrate the variety of its archive holdings and their value to science. Due to major site restructuring at BGS Keyworth we were unable to hold the event between 2010-2011 so we produced this online display to showcase some of our unique and valuable collections.
