Analysis of water samples

Types of materials analysed include

  • aqueous samples with saline matrix
  • borehole monitor samples
  • environmental waters
  • ground waters
  • stream waters
  • synthetic and experimental fluids

The analytical techniques available are:

  • inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectromety (ICP-AES) for major and trace cations
  • ion chromatography (IC) for major and trace anions
  • organic carbon analyser for non-purgeable organic carbon (NPOC)
  • potentiometric titration for pH and alkalinity
  • potentiometry for electrical conductivity
ICP-AES used for analysis of water and contaminated soil samples.
