| The BGS’s primary sidescan sonar system is the Waverley Sonar 3000. This is a 100 kHz system incorporating a single processing unit with automatic adaptive gain control, a range expansion facility and display on a high-definition thermal printer. The data may be recorded to the BGS CODA200 system for reprinting or further processing following the survey. Typically water depths to 300 m are possible, with up to a 750 m range each side. |
