The BGS 5 m combined rockdrill and vibrocoring system offers the versatility of two sampling systems on one rig. This has the advantage of mobilising one system for a project that allows us to sample hard rock and sediment samples with the same system. This system comes fully equipped with its own winch system and control cabin.

This system can be mobilised on any vessel of opportunity with a DP system and suitable A frame. RD1 has been used for a number of different scientific projects and commercial contracts in various parts of the world from the Antarctic to the Tropics.

This system can carry a sub-sea video camera suite that can be used to assist landing and real-time video link to the surface.
