| RD3 is a small compact rock drilling system that can
operate from smaller vessels either by means of a dedicated winch
or crane launch. This drill can operate in water depths of up to
2000 m using the BGS umbilical winch.
If a ship's crane launch method is used then less deck space is required, thus allowing smaller vessels to be mobilised. This method allows operation in shallower water up to 350 m. If the crane launch system is used this drill can be mobilised in a very short period of time. This drill is ideally suited for shallow water work or inshore areas. |
