A new survey of the Superfical Geology of the catchment of the Eddleston Water has been completed by BGS, as part of the Flood Alleviation and Monitoring studies, funded by the Tweed Forum. The Eddleston Water is a major tributary of the River Tweed that is susceptible to flooding. It extends between Penicuik and Pebbles, in the Scottish Borders. A comprehensive collaborative research programme, between Dundee University and BGS, to investigate methods of flood monitoring and mitigation is now underway at the Eddleston Water Monitoring site (shown in red).
