The BGS Geology datasets are digital geological maps of Great Britain based on the different series of published BGS paper maps. Most paper-only maps have now been digitised into popular GIS and web formats and their lithostratigraphic nomenclature has been updated to conform to current usage. The digital data now contain information from recent field surveys conducted by BGS, as well as previously unpublished maps and additional interpretations.
