Welcome to the website of the British Sedimentological Research Group's (BSRG) 2014 53rd annual meeting.

The British Geological Survey (BGS) is delighted to be convening this year's AGM. As in previous years, we anticipate a strong turnout from research students and early-career researchers, together with our knowledgeable and diverse community of academic and industry experts.

The BSRG AGM is the most important event in the BSRG calendar and is the focus for much of BSRG's activities. BSRG 2014 will include core workshops at BGS's National Geological Repository and two days of conference at the Nottingham Conference Centre. Please see the conference programme for details.

Why should you attend the AGM?

  • Opportunities to meet other researchers, peers, industry contacts and perhaps even a future employer?
  • Talks and poster sessions will provide an excellent opportunity to advertise your research to a sympathetic audience
  • Catch up on the UK sedimentology research scene
  • Attend an extensive social programme
  • Hear from and network with some of the leading figures in the field
  • Be informed of and inspired by the latest developments

Programme highlights include sessions sponsored by PESGB and the Clay Minerals Group, a local fieldtrip to Charnwood Forest and conference dinner at the world famous Trent Bridge Cricket Ground.

As the meeting conveners, we very much look forward to welcoming you to Nottingham in December.

Oliver Wakefield and the BGS team.
