Renewal

The renewal of a research permit or of an authorisation for prospecting is granted by Order of the Mines Minister against payment of renewal fees and surface fees (as set out in Article 103 and Article 104 of the Mining Code, respectively).

The renewal of a research permit or an authorisation for prospecting becomes a right provided the holder of these mining titles has complied with the provisions that are set in the Standard Agreement and in the order granting the titles (Article 26 and 34 of Order No 99-032/P-RM, dated August 19,1999).

For the first renewal, the surface area of the exploration permit is reduced by 50%. For the second renewal, the remaining surface area is reduced again by 50%. For prospecting authorisations, only one renewal is allowed, although there is no reduction in area.
