Lithological Description: Sand and gravel, locally with lenses of silt, clay or peat and organic material. It occurs as isolated hill top gravel patches at Woodford, lying at 50 - 80 m above OD.
Definition of Lower Boundary: Rests unconformably on bedrock geology.
Definition of Upper Boundary: Overlain in part by Anglian till, otherwise at surface.
Thickness: 1-10 m, average 5 m.
Geographical Limits: Tributary of pre-diversionary (ancestral) River Thames, Woodford - Epping area.
